1. Project type: Skill Training (TESDA - Technical Education and Skills Development Authority)

Accredited Skills Training: Train people in demanded trades, according to the government standards which are accepted by hiring companies. Government is giving full scholarships to qualified applicants to produce more skilled labourers.

Job Creation: The government requires that service providers guarantee over 70% of their students find employment after graduating their TESDA course or it will affect their eligibility to qualify for scholarship funds. This encourages providers to not only focus on training but to connect students to hiring companies.

Business Opportunities: Well of Life is interested in empowering students by creating social enterprises that will create many jobs in construction, agricultural development, and food industries.

Rehabilitation of Drug Reformists: Train people on the government’s black list to become productive citizens who work and contribute to the country’s development.

Income Generating for WOLCDI Sustainability: TESDA accredited service providers can receive scholarship funds from the government to run their schools and train their students. The regional TESDA office allocates a certain number of slots to each service provider every 6 months, these finances can help support the social economic activities of our organization.

2. Target Sites: 1. Well of Life’s 1-hectare, hands on training site in Tinolang, Bayabas, Toril, buildings will be built for a residential rehabilitation center in the near future. This is suitable for Welding, Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Organic Farming, Electrical 2. Well of Life is managing a 1.6-hectare developed property that will serve as a women and children’s rehabilitation center. This is suitable for Barista, Bread and Pastries, Cookery and Housekeeping.

3. Project Summary and Scope: An increasing number of Filipinoshave not graduated from school which makes it very difficult to secure meaningful work when they are adults. This makes them vulnerable to drugs, vices and low paying, unreliable, temporary jobs. Our project will help these people learn new accredited skill and secure in demand work. They will have a better chance of securing and retaining employment because companies are requiring applicants to have the TESDA NC II certification. We are planning to offer initial courses in masonry, electrical, plumbing, welding, organic agriculture, carpentry, barista, bread and pastries, cookery and housekeeping. Businesses will be started by Well of Life to utilize the skilled workers and generate income for the programs and services of the organization.

4. Target Beneficiaries: Men and women adults, our focus is on people struggling with life controlling issues to give them hope and a more productive life, to be able to provide for themselves and their families. Over 50 Direct beneficiaries the first year, at least 45 passers who will gain long term employment.
